Born into captivity, Athena was hand raised at the N/a’an ku sê Foundation Wildlife Sanctuary. This gorgeous girl is the sister of Amber, both cats now enjoying a life mimicking that of their wild counterparts as closely as possible. As with Amber, Athena’s habituation to humans would significantly reduce her survival chances in the wilds of Namibia. This has resulted in her captive life and given rise to an ideal ambassador opportunity. Athena educates all who meet her on the plight of cheetahs and the desperate need to conserve this fascinating species. Together with her sister, Amber, she has graced the small screen in many natural history documentaries – gracefully showcasing the habits and behaviours of the world’s fastest land animals.
