Cleaning For Good
Join the Movement to #KeepNamibiaClean with the N/a’an ku sê Coastal Beach Cleanup Campaign
On 29 December 2024, the N/a’an ku sê Foundation Coastal Conservation Project is calling on Namibians to unite for a critical cause: restoring and preserving the beauty of Namibia’s coastline. The Cleaning for Good Beach Cleanup Campaign will mobilise communities, influencers, and corporate sponsors in a collective effort to remove waste and protect marine and birdlife.
During the festive season, Namibia’s beaches experience increased activity, often leaving behind trash that threatens the fragile coastal ecosystem. Each week, over 300 kilograms of garbage are removed from Long Beach alone, a testament to the pressing need for action. The Cleaning for Good Beach Cleanup Campaign aims to amplify these efforts, ensuring a cleaner, healthier environment for all.
“Namibia’s coastline is vital for marine and bird species, and it’s our responsibility to protect it from the devastating impact of waste,” said Colette Massier, Head of Fundraising at the N/a’an ku sê Foundation. “By coming together for this cleanup campaign, we can make a real difference while fostering a culture of environmental stewardship.”

Why It Matters
Namibia’s coastline is not only a natural treasure but also a vital ecosystem for marine life and birds. The Coastal Conservation Project has been instrumental in protecting these habitats through weekly cleanups and public education. The 29 December event is a chance for everyone to take part in this essential work, ensuring Namibia’s shores remain pristine and vibrant for years to come.
