Namibia harbours a wealth of extraordinary animals
From the regal Gemsbok to the critically endangered hook lipped rhinoceros, Namibia remains a thriving ecosystem of majestic creatures. Boasting the highest density of cheetahs in the world, Namibia is a rare place where wildlife can be seen amongst your day-to-day routine. However, due to the human wildlife conflict widespread across the country, it is vital that we work to protect these vulnerable animals.
This glossary presents a non-exhausitive list of some of the most iconic species as well as lesser-known ones that you can see on our sites and in Namibia more generally. The species present on the N/a’an ku sê sites are identified by our logo.
